This is the platform that I personally use as a freelancer. It's professional, credible and full of opportunities that fit every single person.
The steps you will need to follow as a starter are briefly as follows:
1-create your account
2-complete your profile as a freelancer and mention all your experiences and skills (You can also take some of the available tests to support your skills)
3- create an account on PayPal.com and connect it to your bank account (now they have a direct payment method to your bank without a PayPal account but I haven't tried it yet)
3-connect your upwork payment method to your PayPal account
4-search for suitable jobs using your desired keywords
5- apply to the suitable jobs
6 -tip: try to always choose highly rated clients and check their reviews and make sure they have a verified payment method which is always mentioned in the job post
7 - try to offer very low rate at the beginning which will be your point of competition before you build your own review and reputation
8 - upwork will always provide you with help support and tips
9 - it might take some time before you get your first client so be patient

Upwork provides continuous guidance, explanation, support and training webinars that are very helpful to beginners as well as to experienced freelancers and companies looking for freelancers through upwork.

Upwork charges a service fee per project as well as a VAT which is automatically deducted from the payment of any achieved task. 

أنا شخصيا باستخدمه. مهنية ومصداقية وفرص تناسب كل شخص .الخطوات اللى حاتحتجها باختصار هى:1-اعمل حساب2-كمل ملفك الشخصي كويس، وحط كل خبراتك ومهاراتك (ممكن بردو تاخذ شوية امتحانات من الامتحانات المتاحة لدعم مهاراتك)3- اعمل حساب على PayPal.com واربطه بحساب البنك بتاعك (دلوقتى عملوا طريقة للدفع فى البنك مباشرة من غير حساب باي بال)3-اربط طريقة الدفع بحساب الباى بال4-دور على الوظائف المناسبة ليك باستخدام كلمات بحث مناسبة5- قدم فى الوظائف ديه 

6 -نصيحة: حاول أن تختار دائما عملاء واخدين تقييم عالى وتأكد ان ليهم طريقة دفع محققة7 - حاول فى الأول تعرض أسعار قليلة أوى كوسيلة لجذب العملاء لغاية ما تبنى سمعة كويسة8 - upwork بتوفر لك دائما دعم ومساعدة ونصائح10- الموضوع ممكن ياخد وقت فى الأول لغاية ما يجيلك أول عميل فاصبر شويةUpwork بيوفر توجيه وشرح ودعم وتدريب وندوات متواصلة مفيدة جدا للمبتدئين واللى عندهم خبرة والشركاتUpwork بيخصم رسوم خدمة وضريبة على القيمة المضافة تلقائيا من أى مبلغ حيدفعهولك العميل.
